Mental Health
GPs are often the first port of call for people seeking help and support with a mental illness, disorder or acute mental crisis. GPs can provide a variety of services, including referral to specialised services. All of the GPs consulting from Queen Street Medical Centre can provide mental health support and health services. Your doctor may recommend a referral under the Better Access Initiative including preparation of a Mental Health Treatment Plan. Mental Health Treatment Plans provide patients with access to Medicare rebated psychology sessions.
Looking after your mental health and wellbeing during the COVID-19 pandemic is important. Ensure that you take time out for yourself and regularly debrief with your GP. Ten tips for coping with COVID-19 from MindSpot are available online. There are additional support services available during this time, including telehealth (phone or video) appointments with your Doctor.
